When Allen J. Tillery hung out his shingle in Arabi in 1954 it was the first law office in St. Bernard Parish. In 1976 his son Scott Tillery joined the firm and they enjoyed a reputation for excellence in representing clients diligently and professionally.
In 2005 after Hurricane Katrina destroyed the office in Chalmette the firm relocated to Metairie. In 2020, Scott’s son Matt Tillery was admitted to the bar and joined the firm, beginning the third generation of excellence in serving our clients responsively and successfully.
Legal Solutions for Individuals and Businesses
In Louisiana “succession” means the process by which our courts give legal effect to the transmission of property ownership after death. At Tillery & Tillery we have years of experience helping our clients assure that their wishes are carried out with the least risk of unnecessary delay, expense or conflict. In most cases this involves proper drafting and execution of a testament or will and other important documents, but we will discuss and advise you about all options appropriate for you.
At Tillery & Tillery we devote personal attention to personal injury claims backed by years of experience handling motor vehicle accident, premises liability (slip/trip and fall) and products liability cases. We are here to answer your questions throughout the process with the goal of making you “whole,” that is getting fair and full compensation for everything you have lost due to someone else’s negligence- the tangible (medical expenses, lost earnings, property damage) and the intangible (pain and suffering, inconvenience, lost earning capacity, loss of enjoyment of life).
After the federal levees failed in Hurricane Katrina and torrential flooding and winds decimated our city we fought for our clients and ourselves in years of litigation against insurance companies who failed to properly and promptly pay valid claims. We fought relentlessly because our homes and offices were destroyed without due compensation and we understand the anguish and the additional suffering and frustration when insurance companies refuse to meet their obligations.
Louisiana real estate law has some unique principles in which we are well versed after years of experience handling routine matters including sales, closings, leases, donations and title examinations.
Occasionally conflicts arise among co-owners of property which must be resolved either by negotiation or by court proceedings (“partition”). We try to resolve this through negotiation at minimum expense to you, but failing that we will aggressively pursue a resolution in court.

Divorce is traumatic for everyone in the family and particularly for children.
